good times and bad

it's been hectic over here.

last tuesday, we got news that my grandfather passed away. i loved that man. what's sadder is that i was unable to attend his funeral the following friday, due to being completely broke (he lived in Cali). if i didn't have a shitter as a vehicle, it would have been possible. i was terribly upset. the morning of his funeral, i was in a foul mood, i cried, i took many showers (i like to think a lot during my showers). i decided to keep myself busy to present a positive attitude for the girls, so i happily baked a birthday cake for billie, as we were going to do a little shindig for her at my mother in law's the next day.

a friday

today, we went to bonnie springs.

the kids really loved it.

almost 1!

so my littlest will be 1 in two weeks!

my, has she been a little bit of a handful lately.

she's in a hitting/pinching phase, and telling her 'no' seems to make her smile and laugh instead of stop. she's also been into throwing fits and crying on purpose to get her sissy in trouble. <--yes, she totally does this. so my ears have been perking more than ever to make sure i'm sending peppy to time out for real reasons, rather than going by billie's cry, because i don't always see it.

is it too early to start thinking about halloween?

not for me! halloween is mine and my hubby's favorite.

last year, i was little red riding hood one night, and raggedy ann the next. penelope was the stinkin cutest skunk that you ever did see, billie was a sleeping pumpkin {she was only 2 months at the time}, and matt was a prospector lookin for whiskey and gold.

yeah, we didn't go together at all, but i like that we can each be what we want to be. {even though, i would totally enjoy and love it if my husband and kids agreed to be something together for at least 1 year in the future.}

so this year, i've been keeping my stay at home mom self busy by crafting. all thanks to pinterest, i've acquired many, many ideas. since tutus are apparently super easy to make, i think i'm going to attempt this early on to make the girls' costumes, tutu style.

when i asked penelope what she wanted to be, {i'm not sure she still really understands} she said a cowgirl. i know she only said this because she had just caught something on tv about a cowgirl and asked me what it was..after i figured this, i sat her on the computer with me and we seached for ideas. {she really loved this idea}

we went through (tutu inspired of course} and found some stuff she really liked. i was surprised she was still into the cowgirl idea when we stumbled upon a tutu'd skirted cowgirl {so cute}, though besdies that, she 'oh! i wanna be that!' on others, like the dragon {no tutu, but cute anyway}, the black cat, cupcake, the queen of hearts, and the blue princess {cinderella}.

so, i'm taking that and picking something out, and that's what she will be! right now, i'm still not sure on what that is yet, but at least we're getting somewhere..

as for billie, i saw a cute tutu'd ghost costume <3 ahh

is that not the cutest baby girl?? maybe i want the baby, not the costume..yeah. but so far, it's a winner! this costume is made and sold on etsy.

as for moi, le moi will most definitely be a sugar skull this year. i already got the custom dress made back when i was supposed to wear it for penelope's birthday party, but she was sour at her party and didn't want to wear hers, so i didn't wear mine. though, i'm so glad that i could put it to good use for halloween! you'll see whyyy. xo

long time no see.

2. billie playing hide n seek. *she's coming up to her 1st birthday in a couple weeks!  other amazing things she's been doing lately: says new words {uh, oh! diaper, tank ooo! (thank you). she's a magician or wizard, or i don't even know. but, she's quick. that baby gets to places that makes my head explode giant question marks.

3. billie, 4th of july.

4. i was soooooo happy to finally try hash house a gogo. penelope was, too.

5. i've been crafty lately.

in other news, i'm looking forward like crazy to going to los angeles, to attend the fyf festival, and hang out with some of the coolest friends in the world! it's only about 3 weeks away and i cannot wait. hurry up.
